Four Glasgow schools are piloting a new project run by St Andrew's First Aid youth project "BandAge" which aims to equip young people with essential first aid skills, volunteering opportunities and the chance to gain nationally recognised certificates and get involved in peer mentoring. 

A new art programme has been launched by Glasgow based charity Impact Arts to help children who have been affected by drug or drink addiction in Glasgow's East End. 

Dame Kelly Holmes, David Blunkett, John Sergeant and Lord Robert Winston discussed with over 300 students why character matters in both professional and public life.

Share stories of resilience

How can we inspire resilience in others? By sharing stories that inspire us, we can pass it on says positive psychology and resilience coach Chris Johnstone in his Positive News blog.

Last year Gary wrote about his meeting with the leader of Polar Academy, Craig Mathieson, and about the inspirational message that the charity carried. Now, the ten Scottish teens chosen for this 100 mile Arctic expedition are in their final stage of training.
